That's the first time I ever participated in the Sonic fan community.
I was encouraged to show off some of my old artwork on a different, non-Sonic related forum. Somebody said to me, "You're pretty good at drawing Sonic, you should work for the Archie comics".
I thought, "Really, you think that's good?". So I went to SONICHQ, where I spent a lot of time when I was a young Sonic fan in the mid to late 90's, and created that topic to see if anybody wanted to do some SatAM artwork(or just old-school-related Sonic art in general). The responses I got were pretty positive, so I felt really good about myself.
That's when I decided to come to Deviant Art, and to start making art regularly. It was so fun at first. Getting to meet the people inside the community, getting to see what people like(omg, Sally and Amy!) I never realized that my gallery would become so popular, though.
And that's wonderful.
But there's something about those early days that I really miss....getting to know people...I remember lots of people from those early days who were so kind and nice...
Sometimes I feel like my gallery is so bloated that it discourages people from talking to me on a personal level. I feel like people treat me like I'm special, sometimes. Which is not the case at all. Yes, I have a lot of experience drawing Sonic characters, but I'm no different than you. I'm just a guy who likes Sonic and draws Sonic.
Ah, those early days. I remember all my old friends. Batty Buddy, and ChibiKeba, and Rachael, and Adamis, and Genocyber, and Faded-Myth, all the other SatAM fans... and of course, Kimmy
Maybe I should do some quickie Sonic sketches. I've tried so hard to get better at producing professional looking artwork, that I've forgotten the fun of quick, simple drawings like I did in the early days. I should do more of that again.
Thanks for the good times, guys.
This is ChadtheCartoonNut, trying to start over once again. Over and out.

I'm your favorite artist's favorite artist
and i do ageree there is a good change you get hired to do Archie but problem is they cannot fire the other artist for reasons as ` this guy can do better` so its very hard and its impossible to do something for sega
i hope this doen't sound rude because you love drawing Sonic stuff but ever thought of drawing your own creations? just a question

But I have no aspirations to draw for Archie. I just took it as a compliment from that individual back then.
... plus it's kinda hard to talk to somebody who appears to be busy. Sorry.
I resent the busyness of my schedule. I need to learn to balance my job and my drawing time better.

Now that's old-school.
I usually play my Sonic games on my PSP...
Nothing beats playing it with the old Sega pads, that's for sure!
